Help with Software Update not working

Need help guys and gals....My Software Update keeps telling me that I am not connected to the internet in order to check for new updates. Meanwhile I am surfing the net and sending messages like this on my computer with no issues at all. Please advise, your help will be greatly appreciated.

Also, tried creating a new account to see if it works with a new account? As in a new logon account...

Thanks for your help...it just started working again and I did not do anything different. I will make sure to come back to this if I have the same problem again.

That happened to me the other day and so I just kept trying the update and the second time it worked. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again as the old saying goes.
