I have read alot of people complaining about this. Here is the simple answer.

Make your movie just as you want with your pictures (no titles obviously) export it to your camera roll.

Go back into iMovie, click new project. Add your video you just sent to your camera roll. Then double click the picture, it will now allow you to add titles and such.

Also you can add multiple songs by using a similar concept. As well as a fade by using a black picture (as was posted by another user in the tips thread)

So if you get creative, it can be done. And I'm sure apple will release a few nice updates with added features.

Thanks for the tip. At the moment, that's the only problem I have with my uses for iMovie. Haven't managed to make anything worth while yet, but this weekend should provide me with plenty of opportunities to make a few small videos.

Not having iMovie for the iPhone but knowing basic compression principals - doesn't this degrade the video by adding another generation to the compression?

well I dont think the movie is compressed until you export it out of your camera roll into email or youtube.

Im could be wrong as I am not an expert on the topic. But either way it looks fine to me.

It was even more clever when I posted it. Week ago. Search is your friend.

I tried the suggestion from this thread and it worked except that the title stayed on through the whole movie and I only want it to be there for a few seconds. So the problem is that by saving the movie, now iMovie sees the clip as one video and any title is shown for the entire movie. How can I get the title to not last so long on my movie?

Text on a clip segment should only last for that segment.

    Danpass,

I watched your video and it was very helpful, thank you! I just hope Apple adds more features to this app.
