Got to stop by the Hermes main boutique in Paris, it's a wonderful store.

They have in-stock of what is usually sold out in the US.

Noticed that Apple store finally has stock on most of the Hermes watches. That sure took a while. Tempted to get one, but a new one will be out in 7 months.

 

Probably a good time to buy your favorite bands for this generation and hold out for the next generation watch.

 

Yep, and the other boutiques in Paris all stock the same. The popups in stores like Galleries Lafeyette don't stock any AW.

True. I love the multi color bands but I still have Series 3, but we all know those faces will be there for Series 5. I just see no reason to buy back-to-back series, unless the features drastically are better. Not to mention get full use of Applecare+

 

Yeah, I’ve been buying with every new series (not Hermès, S4 my first Hermes), but with the extra year warranty (not Apple Care+), I’m thinking of skipping S5.

 

I agree, and usually skip. Especially after the S4 which was more or less a re-design, I would imagine that the coming rev or 2 will be more evolution...adding features (and of course the steady march of faster processors) rather than any change in form factor.

 

I like the S4 redesign, anytime they can engineer more screen space that's a plus as I don't regret getting the iPhone XS Max.

Imagine if S5 extends battery life much more, and/or adding some sleep functions that's going to be hard not to want to upgrade.

 

I went from the Hermès series 3 to a gold SS series 4. I'll be upgrading next year just to go back to the Hermès...I really miss the watch faces.

 

Yeah after spending so much time with the faces, I feel it'll feel weird to not have them anymore. I only ever use Apple faces for fitness.

It's definitely weird. I don't like the Apple faces as much at all.

 

So funny, I'm the exact same way. I had a Series 3 Hermes and sold it when the Series 4 was launched. I thought I'd just get a regular stainless steel S4 and ordered it. Once it came in and couldn't stand not having the Hermes faces. I ended up taking it back immediately and ordering a Series 4 Hermes.

 

I should have done the same thing! I'm counting the days until the next update.

 

This also applies to Nike users. The default faces are so bad, that the Nike ones are better.
