hi I was thinking that Apple can do that; add a percentage with it; its a volume slider; then listening to music is ea-sy to judge whats better and whats worse with the ears . Its where listening with music is concerned .

why would they suddenly do this, after so many years of it just being an unmarked slider?plus, so many variables: what speakers, or headphones you're using. powered speakers? (ie with their own volume controls)? etc... meanwhile, use your ears, that's the best tool to measure what's better, or worse.

meanwhile, full level=100%; it's not a boost, so, anything below that is simply less that 100%...

In a sense nobody here would really know that Apple would do this 100% as we're all just consumers. Apple commonly adds features in betas and removes them for public launch and makes patents for technologies we never see. As aforementioned its just unlikely based on a variety of factors, but then again I could be wrong. The best thing to do is let Apple know via http://www.apple.com/feedback/.

hi I remember that Mac Airbook has the keys to press that lower and then if you like that increase volume; because I u-se it frequently and Im using it now; and that seems more suited to an audiobook reading; which isnt so useful for a music cd with mp4 format that requires highly adjustable volume setting .

what are you listening to? (ie itunes?) and do you have speakers, or are you listening on your mac?

between the volume control in itunes, and the one for the system, you should be able to get what you need. but i hear you; a more-detailed option would be nice...
