Hi-Rez on 15.4 looks like what on the 17?

I would like to get the AG screen on the 15.4 which only comes with hi-rez. I'm trying to get an idea of how small the fonts would be given the many complaints about the small text size with this option. Trouble is I can't find one to see for myself. There are 17's in my area though. Am I correct in that the text size on the 15.4 would be roughly equivalent in size to that on the 17 at 1920 x 1200?

Such a bizarre problem- I'm thinking of getting the older core 2 duo with AG which had the standard resolution! Thanks everyone for helping out a newbie!

They'll be exactly the same size. The pixel density of the two screens is exactly the same. Just imagine this: Take the 17" screen, chop 1 inch off the length, and that's how long your screen will look like. The size of all icons and text will be the same, but the screen is physically smaller.

Clarification : we are comparing the text size on the 15.4 in "hi-rez" which has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 vs that on the 17 ( native resolution1920 x 1200). Standard resolution on the 15.4 is 1480 x 900.

With the same text shown on both screens, the hi-res 15" fonts will appear slightly larger than the 17" fonts. The pixel density for the 17" is 133 ppi, and for the hi-res 15", it's 128 ppi.
