Noticed that even though I have installed it, it is still on the main page of the App store for "download". I can't remember from prior OS updates if it is still listed with a download button vs. a reference to installed?

Same here... I can't remember how Sierra handled this though.

I’m not in front of my Mac at the moment. Is there no longer the option to right click and hide it?

It still shows as downloadable because after you install the operating system it deletes it from your application folder. This way you can re-download it if you want.

If you download it again, and then when it opens just close it. Then if you go back to the app store the download button will be changed to open.

Sierra did the same. When I had Sierra if I searched it on the App Store it still listed it as downloadable.
