Since Slate was said to be pro-Hillary biased...

Personally, not everyone is going to like every aspect of everyone else*. Aall the article does is show how Hillary is able to separate personal beliefs in favor of helping the whole nation, even smaller percentages in the population. I don't mind if she personally has issues, the fact she stood up in favor of something is pretty considerable, justly so, on her part.

    * Looking at the amount of homophobia many gay men against bisexual men, "femme" men, "fat" men, men with STDs (despite freely passing what they might or might not know they have to others), she is a lot more worthy than many she is free to not care for the same way everyone is after a certain point.

I'll admit she hasn't been the most vocal Democrat to advocate for LGBT rights and she didn't come around until 3 years ago on same sex marriage. However, I'm concerned about the here and now. Trump wants to appoint another Scalia, Clinton just said at the debate last night that she would appoint justices who would preserve marriage equality. No competition here.

This must be her bigoted private view on this matter. What a disgusting individual, at least Trump spits in your face, not behind your back.

What's wrong with just having Parent/Guardian on the form

Hillary is really easy to understand.

Lie to the audience in front of you, no matter what, to get their support.

The left is so utterly gullible, she can get away with anything.

Oh the irony. Trump has his followers behaving like a cult. Utter idol worship so strong that they don't care what he says and does. They will even sacrifice their religious principles and all sense of decorum over him. He truly could murder someone on 5th avenue and they would still be in his pocket.

This country is messed up with its ever more strident insistence on a binary view of everything. That of course leads in turn to an insistence that everyone must adopt just one --no, the one, the only correct-- view of something on which many views are possible.

One may have a private view at variance with law. Acting on it is something else.

An elected official is sworn to uphold the law. If one cannot do that, then the recourse is to try to advance repeal or amendment of the law through the courts system, meanwhile acceding to the law as it stands. That's what rule of law means.

Example: one may choose personally not to have an abortion, nor counsel another to do so, and yet publicly acknowledge that Roe v Wade allows for choice. At the same time one may publicly advocate for repeal of Roe v. Wade, or one may publicly support Roe v. Wade in that it does allow for a personal choice.

It's hard to imagine why 2/3rds of voters don't trust a word she says.

Think that might be 2/3 of registered Republicans, and falling.

Yes she is. Go to her website for a clear exposition of her policy proposals and plans for implementation.

Trump's the best at that, by an impending landslide. Trump gave a great demo of lying in the 2nd debate. David Leonhardt got it right when he pegged Trump as a relentless liar. Leonhardt even bothered to cite the details, one by one, from the Sunday horror show.

The last time the left was really gullible was the last time the right was really gullible: WMD in Iraq. Then along came Donald Trump to break the tie. We concede the righties are ahead now on gullibility. Donald Trump has promised he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose any votes. Prediction: game over, but of course we hope it does not come to that. Abandon him now while he's still free to walk amongst us.

"Was" could be the key word. In the documented aftermath of Sunday's debate it has become pretty clear who's the master liar. Only Trump's core electorate can still compartmentalize well enough to think Trump's record for setting his pants on fire in the liar liar department exceeds that of his opponent. That's where I got my estimate that maybe 2/3 of Republican electorate still thinks Clinton the bigger liar, and I was probably being generous.

otoh who's the bigger liar may become moot at the rate Mr. Trump is tweeting this morning. One of the recent ones I saw suggested that "disloyal Republicans" are harder to beat than "crooked hillary" ... ???... but he will teach them how to win. I am not sure that's exactly what he meant to say (never admit you're losing, Don).

Anyway he now seems more focused on thrashing some of his own adopted tribe for not knowing how to win? rather than hammering on who believes what Clinton says about anything. Meanwhile potential voters dislike both candidates but are now thinking they will prefer Congress to be led by the Democrats for a change... nice going Don, keep talking trash about losers who can't beat Clinton. The gerrymandered advantage-red looks to be slipping away...

It's been a pretty good run for the homosexual community, you must admit. Obama went from, in 2008, believing and stating that marriage was between one man and one woman, to today, where the president embraces homosexual marriage and the government hauls into court and destroys the businesses of religiously observant people for not making cakes or flower arrangements for same sex wedding ceremonies.

    Yep, quite a run.

Good times indeed. I would hate to see it reversed.
