I think that's a smart move. Keystone is not really a people's issue. Why would she want to risk any backlash giving a position about it. And she's in a position to do that. Jeb and Scott are not, and have to throw politically controversial issues at candidates for their own survival in this race.

Just taking a page from the Nancy Pelosi play book, "We need to pass the bill in order to find out what is in the bill."

Isn't a candidate required to answer a question from a reporter, even if that answer is a lie.

No. Where did you get that assumption from?

Ordinary political rules don't apply to the Clintons.

If you are running for president and dodge a simple question or any question for that matter what does it say about your character.

Just lie like the others do if you don't want to give an honest answer.

From the OP's linked article ...
If she had a leading role in getting the process started, one can only assume that she (at least once) supported it.

Which is exactly why she dodged the question. Stating she's against it would illustrate her hypocrisy and supporting it would upset her base.

    Okay, I LOL'd.

More likely it seems the Obama admin might have a knife out for Hillary with the whole email thing being referred to the DOJ. She might not want to antagonize O or his supporters.

Many candidates don't give a position on a specific topic. As much as a target as she is. That was a smart move not to say anything.

If she was in a debate, that's different. Then she would at least have to dance around the topic. But every candidate is guilty of not answering select questions from reporters.

Jeb has refused to answer questions too, so this is all politics as usual. Nothing to see here.

    Such as?

I have a hard time believing that if Jeb was asked a question about an issue that he was intimately involved with while governor, he could simply wave off the question with nary of peep from the MSM.

He didn't answer anything, he gave the run around.

I realized you have a hate for Hilary, but at least post something worth chastising her for. Seems like every time she get's criticized, it's for something every other politician has been doing.

The fact Jeb story is on the front page of the Chicago Tribune says it all.

I realize you're all in for Hillary, but at least pretend to possess a little objectivity.

You asked for a source, you got one. Let's not be picky. Unless it's wacky Fox News.

Objectivity about what? Let's call out ALL politicians then. You're making seem like what Hillary is doing is unique to politics, when damn near every politician does this.

My gripe with the media giving Hillary a pass rather than with the politician herself. I stand by my assertion that only Hillary could give the press the middle finger like that and get away with it.

I don't think the media is giving her a pass. Even as I type this, MSNBC is talking about the topic on Alex Wagner show. And they are as pro Hilary as you get.

Politics is so full of wacky stuff nowadays, of course that's going to get most attention.

Me too, but I still think it's a smart move for her to keep silent about it. At least for the time being or until a debate.

If the purpose of each political thread in the PRSI is to list every politician who has possibly done the same, then political threads are abjectly useless.
