I've noticed my new 2017 15" tbMBP produces a faint, yet audible static/hissing/white noise while/after playing anything with sound. The noise stops after several seconds of pausing music/video. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems like a software issue. I've linked a few threads discussing the same issue.

Take it in. You have 14 days to return the unit no questions asked.
I'm beyond the 14-day return period, but I do have applecare+. I'll give applecare a call to see if this is normal. It's super faint, and unless you're in a very quiet room, it's unlikely you'd hear it. I definitely think it's a software issue since it instantly stops after thirty seconds of inactivity.

Have you found a solution to the problem?

It's a design issue. They will all do it. Some people can't hear it due to the faintness/old age etc. Have three 15" 2017 mbps and one 13". They all do this identically. Can't be fixed.
