Hmmm, why are all the review phones white/silver?

It's probably because they think it's the best color for the iPhone X model this year. It probably photographs better than a black slab too.

The silver just photographs better and with no case and is less of a finger print magnet. The Space gray while nicer is just better in person vs the silver. Mark my words, a few days after the launch watch the posts of people with silver phones complaining about the scratches on the mirrored SS band around the phone.

And I also think instantaneously you know its an X, whereas a quick glance of the gray you may think it's just another iPhone

You smell what you wanna smell. Silver is the flashy new color. Grey is boring and does not photo well.
Remember the chipped scratched bezels (out of the box) on the space grey iPhone 5? Yeah me too.
This wasn't an issue for the 7/7+ Black or Jet black or the 8/8+ Space gray. Even years ago with the 5- it wasn't a widespread issue. Typical defects based on the production run. MR just loves drama.
Same thing happened with the 8/8+, they were all silver and gold. Last year, they sent only black and jet black I believe. No conspiracy, they just choose a color and send it to everyone.
Just remember, that polish is taking a layer off each time you use it. I wouldn't do it too often.
I think you're over analyzing. As others have said, Silver tends to draw the most attention.

Polishing a watch or jewelry is one thing, a band around a phone? One drop of the solution on the screen or worse if it seeps into the phone and it’s a wrap for this over $1000 phone. Honestly this is why I went with the Space Gray, the band is the same as the iwatch and just hides scratches and fingerprints. But to each his own, i’ll Admit silver is nice, but the cons outweigh the pros IMO.
