An interesting article that reports Hollywood stars are considering licensing their images to be used in designing sex robots.

Do you believe this is going too far or should the stars grab the money where they can ?

Will this be an issue of infringement where the sex robot manufacturers might take peoples images without their knowledge for custom sex robot designs ?

"Too far" has long been in the rear view mirror. This is absurd. The drive to orgasm at any cost is killing us.

I've read that some one-half of the Internet is devoted to porn. Porn videos are commonplace. Since I've always found that the real world is quite adequate for me to deal with concupiscence, I'm unconcerned about the wonderful world of robotics.

Consensual is fine. I just worry how everything is pirated now.

In terms of likeness, it may be used either way. There are some protections which vary by state. They protect against things like commercial someone's photo without their legal consent. This is usually a model release form or a component of a larger contract. As far as I'm aware, it hasn't been established whether they'll be able to enforce licensing rights on things like sex robots. Even if these celebrities don't license their images, it's likely to happen.

This is closer to the laws applied in advertising and really has nothing to do with sexual consent, given that a robot is not a person.
