My homepods have some serious issues. When they work, they are a dream. Love the sound, the way they look, and just everything about them.

But they also have issues where the stereo isn't in sync, and other things as well.

I held my patience for weeks thinking maybe software updates will help but no luck.

finally called Apple, and they were SUPER helpful.

I will be getting a mail-kit soon, and hopefully they will be able to repair them.

Apple support is really the most underrated "feature" you get when buying an apple product, especially if it is under warranty
 
My stereo pair did not work well at all with my M1 MacMini, until the latest firmware updates. I also think Monterey OS may have helped.

Well so far so good after the firmware updates. I my M1 MacMini falls asleep, I have to reconnect, as it defaults to my USB-A connected headphone/amp/DAC. But the stereo works, and finally synchronizes with videos I’m playing. My fingers are crossed the fix remains.

Do you think they will just look at them and send them back?

They might just grab a service replacement unit and send that back. I doubt they disassemble a $99 device and swap parts. Maybe somewhere in a refurbishment facility one day, but not with you waiting.

Sounds good to me. The HomePod mini is my favorite Apple product. I enjoy it the most. Don't get me wrong, I obviously love my iPhone etc, but those are also tools that I need.

The HomePod mini is just pure joy. I don't NEED them to enjoy good music, but it is a luxury to have.

I hear you, I use a pair of original HomePods in my office and really like their sound.

I received the boxes a few days ago in like record time lol. I am SO happy with their customer service so far.

I'm going to pack them up and send them off real soon. I will miss them for sure despite the issues.
