    Read this article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21309724/

Some people believe that homosexuality is an immoral choice. I believe that it IS genetic. I also believe in science more so than I do religion. Why? you ask. Science is proven, religion is not.

Read the article and tell us your thoughts and concerns about the article. But... May I ask that you keep an open mind; put aside your beliefs and your religion for five minutes and tell us what you think.

When you're done reading the article, read the quote in my signature.

So if it is genetic I assume I come from a loooong line of "closet queens"? Hmm.

    Really?

We need to learn to love each other for who we ARE as a HUMAN BEING. We are ALL ONE.

There may be a gene who knows, (they hope they will) however it is surely more than this. I think it is a combination of factors, nurture + nature.

We can't hate each other because of what ones sexual orientation might be. ;)

Where did I say hate? I think you misunderstood my point:

I am gay. Thus, if it is "genetic" by your theory, I must have a long line of closetted gay ancestors…

Where did I mention hate? Sheesh!

If it is genetic then it is sort of self eradicating isn't it.

Genetics is a lot more involved than just being the sum of your parents genes.
Throw backs and mutations are just 2 factors.

    My point exactly. :D

I come from a pretty large family… my parents both have 5 siblings… they in turn each have on averegare about 3 kids each… of those (my cousins) all are married or in straight relationships. Wth again about 3 children per couple… Me? I am the only gay in the vill... errm family…
Genetic? I don't think so. Choice? definitely not a conscious one…

I couldn't care less what causes it. It's just evil.

You know that's true because the Pope says so. Also because truly righteous countries like Iran have no sodomites.

What if in the end, Religion ends up being wrong?

    Prof. :apple:

Wouldn't happen. Religion is completely and totally the bedrock of human existence and God Almighty loves us all.

Except homosexuals of course. They're just evil.

If it turns out there is a homosexual gene what do they homosexuals on here think about it?

I mean will it help define who you are?
Do you feel like this is an, for want of a better word, an excuse for being gay, in the eyes of the general public?

(please try and read these questions in the manner they were intended)

So you are just ignorant of what you speak. The Bible clearly says in Leviticus 18:22 that man should not lie with man as he should with a woman.

Therefore gays are evil and should be stoned to death for their crimes against God. There, you've learned something new today.

    ;-)
