Well, automatics are better-suited for commuter driving with its lots of starts and stops--and is actually less distracting because with a good automatic, you can concentrate on looking out the front of the car without worrying about manually shifting gears. :)

When I mentioned 5AT I meant the five-speed automatic transmission that comes with this car in the North American market (only North American market Fits use the 5AT automatic).

You should never have to look down to shift.

It is second nature to me now, I don't even have to THINK about doing it.

Replacement Wiper Blade SOLUTION for Nissan Versa

 Don't know if anyone on this string ended up getting a Versa but Nissan did a pretty good job trying to get you back to the dealer for wipers...

Save Yourself Some Time: The Nissan Versa's 14" passenger side replacement windshield wiper is very hard to find in the newer-style beam blades. The 12" rear is also very hard to find because it’s a special rear blade that fits the special rear arm.

After a ton of research, I've only found one aftermarket set-up that works: 'Trico NeoForm Beam Blades' on the front (yes, they have a 14") and 'Trico Exact Fit Rear Integral Blade' on the rear (yes, it fits the special rear arm). All of the above come with step-by-step, illustrated removal and replacement instructions - easy install. Got the whole set-up online.

:)

How soon do you need to buy?
Cause the new CRZ is coming out as a hybrid with good mileage and sporty everything. It will only hold 2 people but may have enough room under the hatchback to work for you. I have owned a CRX HF for 15 years and it can't be touched. I have a company car so my buddy uses it still for commuting to another airport-still gets 45mpg combined (1989).
Here are some CR-Z links and pics.

Well jokes on me, I just saw where this thread started in 2006! Guess he already picked one.:p

HAHA I just realized that people kept this thread going. I thought it stopped in 2006 :)

I never wound up getting either of them truthfully. Wound up with a VW GTI and then moved closer to work after a year of commuting.

A lot. I repeat, A LOT has changed for me since 2006 :)

I do like that CR-Z though.

the Fit. Honda is just a more reliable company. Their cars are some of the best in the world, right along side Toyota, unlike some american car companies...
cough*ford*cough*GM*cough :D

After the recent quality snafu it seems no one country can claim to make better cars than anyone else. Homer seems ok with domestics though.:D
