hotels, offices and even apartments have no 13th floor, plus some people avoid "13" on everything, for those people will they mind buying iPhone "13"?

my previous building had no 13th floor. well, they did, but it was numbered as 15.(they skipped 13 and 14, but I never found out why during the 9 years that I lived there) But it got me thinking... perhaps Apple should also just jump to 15 and call it iPhone 15.(for iOS 15)

Edit: "In 2015, the NYC housing data and listings firm CityRealty released a study with data on 629 buildings that have 13 or more floors. Out of all of those, only 55 premises had their 13th floors labeled as such. In other words, only 9% of the buildings queried have 13th-floor call buttons in their elevators"

Those with triskaidekephobia (lately considered a superstition, rather than an actual phobia) will probably continue to avoid anything with the number 13. iOS 13 is now past, and was not an issue, as far as I know.
Apple stopped printing the iPhone model name on the iPhone back several years ago, so without that noticeable marking on the case, might be less of an issue, eh?

We are all adult people...Hope this answer your question.😂
On the other side companies offen select happy names and numbers. Best example snapdragon 888 from qualcomm.

It would not effect my decision but, given the gullibility of the populace to embrace all sorts of misinformation and hoaxes, I am pretty sure that some would be deterred by some good old fashion superstition.

Well Microsoft and Apple both skipped 9 for non-superstitious reasons. The idea that they might skip another number is not unfounded, but I don't think they will skip 13 for that reason. If it's not called the iPhone 13, then it'll be so they can call it the 12S, but I feel like they're moving away from "S" names because a new number every year is better marketing.

I don't think the numbers not aligning (macOS 12, iOS 15, iPhone 13) is a big deal either.

I don’t care. Personally I wish they’d just do like Samsung and switch over to using the number of the year, so IPhone 2022. Or just plain iPhone 22. But it’s not particularly important to me what they call it.

Well people that are superstitious and genuinely believe in this for sure they'll avoid the iPhone 13, or any other product with a 13 in this. A very, very small portion of the population, but for sure there are some out there.

I personally couldn't care less, I actually think it would make more sense if they just added the year as the model number and call it a day

I know it's silly...but it does give me the tiniest amount of bother, lol. Enough to make me hope that they call it the 12S!

Oh, I could get an iPhone 13 and make my background a black cat or a broken mirror or the underside of a ladder!

People still carrying on about this 🤦‍♂️😂

it will be a very long time before people stop caring about the number 13.

my company just approved the plans for a new office building. it's a 20-story building with a 21st floor (1-12, 14-21) 14th floor will be reserved and no employees will be working on that floor.(except for maintenance, mailroom, and storage)

Apple made iOS4 and iOS13, no problems. Apple shipped iPhone 4 and 4S globally, even to Asia, no issues. Not sure why iPhone “13” will be a problem now.

People associate numbers with cars and building floors (although it’s less and less these days, even in Asia), but people in general doesn’t seem to associate those superstition with gadgets. All the Chinese OEMs have made version 4 of their handsets, and no drama occurred.

I felt the same way about iOS 13. Nothing I was truly concerned about, but a tiny little unsettled feeling from a lifetime of the cultural association.
