Hotmail and Mail

it depends...
there is a plugin called httpmail that enables mail to check hotmail accounts (only for tiger, I am using it but if you are on leopard you're out of luck).
as for the pop access for your hotmail account...you may have it if your account is an old one...the new accounts don't have pop access unless you pay for it.
hotmail generally wont willingly provide POP access unless you pay some absurd annual subscription to m$.
chances are that the above method will not work as that requires mostly an account that was created last millenia.
the method i use isnt bad, it uses a program called MacFreePops. just go to http://email.about.com/od/macosxmailtips/qt/et_free_hotmail.htm and follow the steps.
it only allows mail-in, not-out, but thats fine for me, i just use a gmail account for all outgoing mail regardless of where it came in from
