For us outside the US perhaps you could explain a little more. What, why etc?

    It would be appreciated.

The dems have staged a sit in. In doing so - Paul Ryan called a recess, shut off cameras and mics. They are currently calling for a vote for the no fly/no buy bill re: gun control.

Congressman Beto O'Rourke is broadcasting live from inside Congress via his phone and FB live. Members of Congress are all speaking in turns about the need to call for a vote.

Speaker Ryan had C-SPAN's camera shut off so they're airing a Periscope feed from the House floor.

MSNBC is reporting that some Senate members have also joined in. Nice!

Good to see them actually trying something. Now the Republicans can get to see what it is like to have a party that actively works to obstruct you. Hopefully the Democrats stick with it, the Republicans were willing to shut down the government over the ACA, perhaps the Democrats should shut it down over gun control.

    Where's the real sit-in pictures?

That's just an ordinary day in the life of the House Democrats.

That's what we've been having from the Republican's for years. It's probably not the best for the future of the country, but it is kind of nice to see them get their tactics thrown back at them.

All gun control is illegal. These foot-stamping children need to be tried for treason.

Do these Democrats have armed protection for their safe space? If so, why is it okay for armed police to protect them, but not for civilians to protect themselves?

    Where does it say that?

Cue the (mis)quoting of the 2nd Amendment in 3...2...1...

The problem isn't civilians protecting themselves. The problem is madmen having easy access to weapons.

What? Senseless gun deaths that could have been prevented? Never. I will never get over that.

Seriously what is the problem with universal background checks...not only that, 90% of the US public supports them. Shouldn't the people that "represent" then follow them? Oh wait.

Tell that to the guy in your avatar, who won't let anyone other than paid security walk into his rally with a gun.
