Lol, funny. Based on a recent court case, that not only supports what raqball said, but you couldn't name cases where releasing Grand Jury information is done on a regular basis. Can't help it if you can't keep up.

I've moved on... The information asked for won't be provided.. FWIW, the link offered up is laughable and says nothing even remotely close to what was claimed....

The article posted makes no reference whatsoever to any of the above claims in regards to Grand Jury information... A moving on I shall go.....

I agree. A crash and burn on that one, good catch. But no need to go any further without any compelling counter evidence.

There are exceptions to everything... Yes they can read it (an exception) IF they were to get a federal judge to order it... A recent case was posted for you to read. I can't make you read it if you do not want to...

There are also exceptions where the chairs (not members) of the intelligence and judiciary committees may be able to view it.. That still does not backup your claim that releasing it to congress is perfectly legal and done on a regular basis..

Your claim was and still is FALSE

You are citing opinions about releasing information not about reading it.

I think you have a point. Still Barr has to testify if the house asks. So does Mueller.

It is? Please provide a source on the frequency of its use or non-use in Congress.

6e and the links previously provided to you explain 6e in great detail.. If you don't want to read what's been previously provided then please stop making demands for sources that have already been given...

    Post 20 ----> https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ting-barr-for-contempt.2180417/#post-27340332

I'll assume this is harassment at this point since you are the one failing to back up claims per forum rules. I've provided everything you need previously and it's all factual information. Read it or don't but don't keep demanding information that's already been provided....

The Dems are shaking in their boots over Barrs investigations over spying and FISA abuses as well as leaks. Forcing Barr to release the Grand Jury to allow them to leak to the media for a distraction. But Barr is having none of that.

To Congress themselves, not to their legal representatives. Another reason why Barrs giving them the middle finger about not showing up, making it look like a courtroom prosecution instead of questions regarding the Mueller report.

I haven't read this thread in entirety yet.

But, WOW. Barr simply reported on the report. And now he's public enemy #1. Who in their right mind would go into public service after what the democrats are doing? Seriously. It is suicide and it will only get worse with the primaries ahead.

You're the one making that claim regarding the frequency it happens in Congress.

If you are democrat/liberal leaning. That is fine. But they are killing themselves. Especially with any precedent. You are working against yourselves at every opportunity it seems. And Americans by and large do not like it.

meh, probably the same reasons Eric Holder was held in contempt (first ever).

In fact I would be entirely unsurprised if the NEXT attorney general were held in contempt because the children in Congress didn't have their tantrum answered by their own standards for whatever drama is in play at the time.

I guess here the difference is that Fast and Furious was a genuine problem with the admin of the time while the "MUH RUSSIA COLLUSION!!!" was exactly what is always was, a nothing-burger.

But those pesky facts .... don't let such trivialities get in the way of a witch hunt.

If I'm Barr I'm not stepping foot in the house without negotiations taking place between his lawyer and leadership. You know this is nothing more than an attempt to set up perjury traps left and right. It's how Bill ended up arguing about what the definition of "is" is. Didn't Barr give Congress a less redacted copy of the report and not a single democrat who's allowed to see it read it?

Negotiations will be over on Wednesday. He's had his chance and now will have to face what is likely a drawn out court battle but the house is well within their rights to find him in contempt.

A hostile foreign government committing a bunch of crimes to subvert a US election to benefit their preferred candidate, and that candidate welcoming and encouraging those crimes and then lying and covering up his campaign’s contacts with the foreign government’s operatives and the crimes they committed is a “nothing-burger”? If Trump told his followers that up is down, you guys would all start standing on your heads immediately.

Meh, the House found Holder in contempt as well. I don't think he's too worried about it. The house should just focus on the hearings from Mueller himself.

It hasn't been given to them but they have the right to see it. You are correct in that none of them have done so. I recall having read somewhere that Democrats want an entirely unredacted version to be made public and that's why they haven't bothered with the less redacted version. IMO, if that is true, that torpedo's any argument they're exercising oversight.

Trump doesn't want that either, we'll have to see what sort of roadblocks he attempts to use to stop that as well.

Can I just say a few things?

What the democrats and media are doing...I think it's dangerous. Far more dangerous than what Trump is all about. Hear me out.

    1. The world is a crazy place. Witness North Korea or China. I think he is leading on those fronts. As much as progress hasn't been made, it is a big improvement over the Obama administration.

    2. The economy is doing great. I don't know how you'd have to live under a rock not to realize that. I think Sarah Sanders (no matter what you think of her) was right. You would be bat **** crazy to deny that that things are exponentially better than what is happening in Venezuela.

    3. The media is very devisive. Beware. Don't let it get to you or get in between family. I recently had a cousin tell me that all GOP were Nazis.....I was like...you are crazy. You'd get your ass kicked around here for thinking that. The point is that people that think differently are not the devil. Comparing all of GOP to "nazi" is just as insane as comparing Democrats to "socialists" "communist" or "anarchists" or whatever. It really is ridiculous to divide us all in this way. We are all Americans wether you like it or not.

Right, the Supreme court has been pretty clear as it pertains to Congress exercising their oversight and investigative roles for sheer political purposes.
