I've never set up my phone as new, and I always restore from previous phones. I've had all the pictures I've taken since the iPhone 4. If my pictures are on iCloud will they download to my phone? Pictures and messages are probably the only reasons why I always restore instead of setting up the phone like new.

I'm currently having two issues that made it's way to the iPhone 7 plus.
1) I can't listen to audio messages sent because volume is too low. I have to go to attachments to be able to hear it in normal volume.
2) The weather app shows the same degrees for all cities except current city.

Hmmm. Maybe I need a fresh start. I have been wanting to delete some messages from people that mean a lot, but it's time to move on.

If you have a Mac you can extract them from the database there, I use Baskup and it produces a text file of the messages for each conversation...just a thought - if you don't have a Mac then its time to make a Mac buddy and sign into your messages account, sync them down, extract then logout and remove them from the Mac once you have copied the resulting text files...

I'd say let it go—a fresh start is always good to your iPhone (and life).

Download a Wifi transfer app from the App Store and put it on both phones. Make sure they're both connected to the same wifi network. Setup the new phone as new. Transfer pics from old phone to new phone. Redownload apps you want from the App Store. This won't save old texts though.

Thank you very much for the suggestions! Right now I had to buy more storage space for iCloud. 9k pictures are uploading. It's taking a while. Once it finishes I'll restore. Don't know if I should go straight into the 10.1 beta, or 10.02.

I do have a Mac! :) I'll save the backup.
