How do have my ipad fill the empty spaces to have full page of icons for each page?

I currently have only half page full icons and I did nothing at all! It just happen! How do I fix this so the pages are filled up again?

Alternatively, select the apps you want from either spotlight or App Library and drag them back onto your homescreen.

I was looking for a way that iOS could help me to re-populate each page to a full page.

It took me 20 minutes to do manually but now I have arrange them in the order I want them. Ugh!
