How do I get rid of the horrible non transparent background on the dock?

    System Preferences > Accessibility > Display > Make sure "Reduce Transparency" or "Increase Contrast" are not checked.

    Or use cDock... Or downgrade to Mavericks...

    It's just reduce transparency (which is a must to stop seeing web page backgrounds in safari menubar while scrolling)

    I find checking increase contrast is kinda nice,as it give the whole os a more crisp look...
