According to the keynote, if you bought an HD version of a movie, you can download the 1080P version through iTunes to your computer through the purchased tab. When you look at the descriptions now of any movie in HD on the iTunes store, it says HD includes 1080P and 720P (downloading 720P).

So was the keynote wrong and you can only stream 1080P or can you download 1080P into iTunes to store locally:

If you have iTunes 10.6, change your HD download preference to 1080p under Preferences>Store. Then go to your Purchases and select "Not on this computer" to see the available ones.

Just noticed that some of the redownloads it's offered up are still in 720p. Checked the iTunes Store and sure enough those 1080p versions aren't available yet. If you redownload the 720p version it shows as an extra file in iTunes.

Whether the 1080p versions are pending, or it's a straight glitch, remains to be seen. But just check that you're actually getting the 1080p version of each item ...
