How does ordering online work

I've never ordered a phone online. So, if I order the IP5 through apple.com or sprint.com does it arrive already activated. Or do I have to bring it to my sprint store after it arrives to my home. Thanks in advance.

Once you unwrap it after thanksgiving, you can activate it by calling AT&T.

It will activate during the set up. No need to bring it in.
