Just how excited are you about MacWorld this year? Among all the cool new stuff being released is the much talked about "thin" MacBook and the new updates to the current MBP....

I'm a 9, interested to see what will come out, but I'm not planning on buying much of anything, unless it is smaller accessories.

I'd be interested - but not. I am perfectly happy with my current hardware, so unless they announce a killer service pack for Leopard - i'd rather not lust after something I don't NEED.

Plus - I won't be in the country to find out anyhow. :(

They already released what I was waiting for...the Mac Pro

So I'm anxious to see what they roll out with...hopefully nothing that will sway me from my plans of getting the pro (ultra-portable might though:confused:)

A new Cinema Display with built-in iSight and/or Apple remote sensor go along with the new Pros of course!! :)

    Interested, but not excited.

I'll read the MacRumours Live coverage, but I won't be soo tense that i keep hitting Refresh, even though I shouldn't.

I'll still keep working during, and try not to yelp with excitement when another text line of play-by-play is added.

I will probably wear jeans, but not necessarily put on the black turtleneck, although it's clean, pressed, and on the hanger on my wardrobe door handle.

I will try to remember to shave, and not have the Jobs 5-Day salt-and-pepper jaw shadow.

I won't hold up my lighter in the darkened studio at the end, hoping against hope for the "One More Thing" encore.

I won't count the sleeps until Tuesday (6, if I can even get to sleep on Monday).

    Okay, maybe I'm kinda pumped.

A 7 for me, I don't want to get my hopes up. I'm in the market for a new MacBook Pro and Cinema Display, so I hope they get updated or possibly even redesigned.

Pretty excited, though not planning on any major purchases soon. But I have this feeling that SJ will be showing something in SF that no one has yet predicted or anticipated.

5-6 for me. I'm not in the market for anything, but I do follow it for the excitement.

Congratulations sommerch. I switched four years ago and am loving it!

I'm excited. I won't be buying anything but I enjoy the hype and the suspense and I'm always fascinated by the new stuff. The RDF is always very feel good about Apple stuff in general.

Plus there will be software updates, so something for eveybody! :)

    ooh definitely 9-10

Had a widget counting down for what seems like an eternity. I want to be self-disciplined enough to wait for the quicktime stream but can't see it happening, really... Just too excited!!!

    Nah... a fiver...

I gave up on getting myself a new MacBook Pro (financing didn't fall into place), so I just ordered a 320GB disc for my 1G MacBook 2.0CD. That should extend its lifespan a bit... and, to be fair, I'm not due for a new Mac purchase until 2009 to keep up my 3 year interval (bought Macs in 1994, 1997, 2000, 2003 and 2006 ;)).

Also just gave up on waiting for the iPhone to be (officially) released in Norway any time soon (don't want a hacked one, that kind of defeats the purpose). Got myself a Nokia E61i instead. And with a year contract I'm ready for a 3G-capable iPhone with a nice 3rd party sftp client/text editor à la Coda next Christmas... ;)

Couldn't care less about the rumoured ultralight, as I'm more likely to go up in size from my MacBook than down. My phone is my ultralight.

My 8GB black 2G iPod nano is also performing nicely and are - hopefully - not due for a replacement for a long, long time.

Video rentals from iTunes... meh... cannot even buy shows or films here, yet... not really an issue.

The only reason I gave it a 5 and not a 0 is that there just might be a surprise, something truly spectacular - even if odds are against it - and that makes me a bit exited, as always...

Now, I'm VERY exited for MW2009. Hopefully they'll release MBPs with two internal, user changeable HDs (for Time Machine or even a RAID1 ***drool*** for safety). Of course these could be released already this year, in which case waiting a whole year to buy one would be extremely painful...

I'm interested, but I can't say excited. My 2-month-old MacBook will hopefully be around for several years as well as my iPod. I am very interested to see what changes and new additions Apple will make. There's only 2 things that would make a new purchase for me feasible and they are very unlikely:

    1. 15" MacBook - If the price were right (MBP is just too expensive and too much machine for my usage) I would conside selling my MacBook and picking one up.

    2. iPhone available through Sprint with much bigger HD. It would be an iPod replacement so it would have to offer more than 20 GB.

I'm not holding my breath for either, but (like with Sprint) I am loyal to companies that offer great products and service so I am always interested in what Apple is doing.

This happens every year....hype, high expectations, Mac users literally giddy with excitment and the anticipation of a 5 year old at Christmas. Followed by numerous bitterly angry postings here and other forums about what a crappy company Apple is after they find out that their favorite product didn't get a massive redesign or speed bump/

So far, on this forum, I've seen anticipation and predictions of complete upgrades and design on every single product Apple makes. To me, reading MacRumors on January 16 is going to be a lot more interesting than MacWorld itself.

This one goes to 11. For me anyway.

Ok, well... I'm already old, but...

My PowerBook G4 1.25GHz will be 4 years old in April.... Looking forward to getting a BRAND SPANKING NEW 17" MacBook Pro.... after all, I had asked all my family members and friends with whom I exchange gifts with at Christmas, to get me Apple Gift Cards ... I think I bought them all sweaters!! :D

So, now I have nearly $800 toward a new MBP. Plus, at work, we get a corporate discount... which amounts to almost another $500...

Did I mention my excitement level is at about an 11 ??:)

I don't knwo about excitement, all I know is that I'm going crazy waiting for it, and the early release of the updated Mac Pro only increased my crazy level. I know what I want, a mid-tower, and I know all the arguments for and against, but I'd also take a MacMini update with an open PCI-e slot. MWSF has to have something new, right? Almost all the rumors reflect existing products, with the possible exception of an ultra-portable/tablet. The only thing that seems absent in the Mac line-up, and I know there are arguments for and against, is a mid-tower, consumer-level, particularly with the Mac Pro going up to eight cores. Seems like space for a four core consumer Clovertown with a PCI-e slot, but maybe just wishful thinking on my part. So I'm going crazy waiting:eek:
