I don't think there is going to be any future Macbook Air models that are going to be the "spiritual" successor of the current models.

If any new device will be called a Macbook Air, it'll probably simply be a "retina Macbook SE" type of device... which means, new butterfly keyboard.

Agreed.

Actually I very much doubt that a computer bearing the venerable name of "MBA" will be produced, marketed and sold with a butterfly keyboard.

Instead, I suspect that the butterfly keyboard will make an appearance when marketed as some other version of a rMB, when the MBA, alas, may be no longer with us.

I am waiting for an update MBA and see if I update mine or not. If they use the butterfly keyboard, well, I think I am done. MBA should be what it is right now. If people want the butterfly keyboard, buy MBP or MB instead, leave our people who value ports alone.

Opinion/Prediction: No new MBA will be forthcoming. Instead, the current MBP without touchbar (aka: MacBook Escape) will be rebranded as something without "Pro" in the name. It will have new components that allow Apple to maintain its profit margin on the machine while lowering the cost nearer to $1,000 US. The butterfly keyboard will be included at no extra charge.

Hajime and Shirasaki, please read previous threads... people have been discussing it recently. It does not make any sens that there will be a new MBA...
