How many computers do you use? I use 6 computers from a G3/300 B/W to an 1.25Ghz eMac. I average about 13 hrs per SETI unit, because of the G3. If it wasn't in the mix I could drop it to 11 hrs. Oh, for you PowerBook user running SETI (my's a 667 G4), run a small fan across the PB to keep the internal fan from kicking in. They run hot, I set my PB on rubber erasers (the pink old fashion ones) to gain airflow underneath the PB. Plus the PB doesn't slide around anymore.

I don't and won't do anything for SETI. If extraterrestrial life existed God would have told us from the beginning. ;) All in all it is a waste of time and a waste of your life for an empty cause.

Are you serious or joking? In any case, the computers are doing all the work, it's not a waste of my time! I'm not running SETI now, but I've had this dual G5 sitting around, seems like I should put it to work. I do agree though, the time is probably better spent with something closer to home and more immediately useful, like protein folding.

My PowerBook; the kitchen PC, to test the internet, and the school computer (I consider it one because there are hundreds, and that would skew the results... )...

Working for MI-6
I use 6 (4 are mine) computers at home and many, many different ones at work. Altogether we have 7 computers (at last count) sitting around in my families house! Primarily (95% of the time) I use my Power Mac G5. At work I use about ~16 computers (All Dells  ).

My PB, the iMac at my parents home, and at my University I shall count as 2, 1 for the Mac Graphic Labs and the other for the regular computer labs and rental laptops from the library.

Great to see all them...

Great to see all them computers put to use. Heres my list:
G3/300B/W (mine)
2-G4/450 (work)
G4/466 (work)
G4/667 (work)
1.25 ghz eMac (son's)

Maybe I'm a dreamer but just maybe there is life out. Yes I know I should help mankind with protein folding; but I find the search for other life more interesting. Besides those computers at work are not used any more.

At home:
-My PowerBook- See sig.
-Dell 4550 P4 2.53ghz (rarely)

At Work:
-Dell Latitude D600 w/ 21" IBM CRT
-Various Dell Desktop Computers- The hospital bought 19" LCD monitors for them so I can't complain too much about them.

Can't forget my original Apple PowerBook 140. Too bad the HD died, it worked until a couple years ago :(

I have chosen to be a part of the folding effort as opposed to the SETI effort. One has to chose which effort they feel has the most benefit.

The same way we were told about native americans ? Definitely not the right forum for that response, nor is it very polite to criticize a fellow mac user. What he/she does with their own machine is none of our business.

Pretty much just the two; an iMac and an iBook. Although, I do dabble a little on the PC in the house. I feel so dirty.

I'm pretty possessive when it comes to my Macs. Neither aliens nor God is allowed near them.

Myself and my fiance have 3 computers in our apartment - her PC, my old PC, now running as a Win2k3 Enterprise Server box, and my 17" 1.25 GHz G4 iMac. My fiance will be selling her PC soon and picking up a new iBook, whenever they're released. Otherwise, I guess I just use my PC at work 5 days out of the week. It runs XP and it's extremely stable - haven't had any issues with it at all.

I use a total of four computers just about every day.

Powerbook G4 12" -- The laptop they purchased for me at work. I use this everyday at home plus when I travel.

Powermac G5 DP 1.8ghz -- The desktop purchased for me at work...this is my main computer :)

Dell Latitude D800 laptop -- The (other) laptop purchased for me at work. I only use this when I absolutely need to ;)

Self-built AMD PC -- A PC I built for myself; the only computer I actually own. Its main use is for holding my iTunes library.

...and soon, I'll be adding a brand new iMac to my arsenal of computers at work!
