How many different volumes controls are there on the iPhone? I'm constantly having trouble setting a volume and it affecting something else. I often set the volume level by using Siri and I'v found that there is a "media" volume and then another volume that I can change by asking her to change my TIMER volume or ALARM volume.

I've gone into an Apple Store and asked this same question and they don't know.

It's easiest for me to set volumes by having Siri do it so what I'd like to know is how many there are (and what they cover) and what they are called so I can have Siri adjust them for me.

I believe there are 3: Media volume (music, YouTube audio, etc.), Siri/Maps volume, and Ringer (notifications and alarms) volume.

You can change the settings for Ringer volume inside Sounds & Haptics in Settings, so you can turn on or off "Change with buttons" if you want. I like having the option to change with buttons on, because then I can change my ringer on a whim if I'm in a place where I need it louder for some reason. I keep Siri volume consistent too and rarely change it. If you are playing media, the buttons will default to changing that, but if you are using Siri or Maps, it will change that volume. It's best to set up your preferred volume for defaults for Siri/Maps and Ringer without any audio playing in any apps so it won't get confusing.
