Look for ISIS and you'll have your answer. Just because they weren't successful doesn't mean they haven't been trying.

Everyone knows Saudi is major supporter of ISIL.
    And Al Queda.

And Egypt is also a hotbed of terrorist activities.

So we should ignore the countries that have actually managed to kill our citizens and ban people from ones that have never attacked us.

Yes, the banned list leaves plenty to the imagination as to why the omissions. Leaving business interests aside, the whole idea of the ban is a crock anyway. It's not like the US along with other countries has not taken great pains to step up its vetting of immigrants in the wake of ISIL-fueled terrorism. This move of Trump's seems more likely to add fuel than subtract it. All it does is make some campaign supporters happy. Temporarily. Maybe. I guess they have been making noises about his Cabinet picks not looking like draining the swamp. Perhaps this ban will distract them for a few days.

Iran was payback for Obama and Kerry because they released sanctions on Iran which was what the Zionists were against. AIPAC,Netanyahu and Lieberman were all against the release of sanctions on Iran and now that their "WALL" buddy Trump is in power it was time for some payback. Those 7 countries are not allies with Israel.

This ban is dumb, plain and simple. I agree in principle with making sure that people coming here ought to be held to high standards and have good background checks done. But banning countries entirely? Huh? And not even all of the ones that have provided terrorists? Wtf?

    Donnie....? Cmon bro.

    Cause Trump!

I find it hilarious people don't understand he's just enforcing laws and directives already on the books that Obama and Bush ignored or issued executive orders to bypass. Like the wall that was approved in 2006 or existing imigration policy or in this case your example. It just shows you how rediculously ignorant people are.

Wait until Customs actually enforces the quotas written into law. People are going to have a meltdown.

It's a temporary halt to sort the visa process not a ban, he's only doing it because the imigration system is a dumpster fire. If people had been doing their jobs and following law for, I don't know, the last 30 years or so we wouldn't have this problem.

Seeking to deny entry to individuals who hold dual citizenship, or valid visas, or Green cards strikes me as being not only a singularly silly idea, but one that serves to inconvenience individuals from the banned countries who are already legally present in the US, often very well qualified, and almost invariably well disposed towards the US and the west.

Likewise, it is telling that a number of the countries which have played host to, funded, financed, or nurtured, or supported, or produced, or gave sanctuary to, terrorists, - countries such as Saudi Arabia, and indeed Pakistan - both of whom could well do with closer scrutiny as their bona fides most certainly merit some questions - have been omitted from this list.

Characteristically, the consequences, and optics, of this have not been thought through, and equally characteristically, Mr Trump thrills to the headlines and views the chaos he has caused worldwide as a cause for celebration.

Generating headlines and sowing chaos; this feeds what strikes me as his bottomless appetite for attention, his all consuming addiction to the oxygen of publicity.

Solid post, that said, if he were to add those countries he would be making law. It's why the actions only involve countries where this was already permissible.

I'm not sure I totally agree with what he is doing to folks with green cards but why the outrage? This is what he said he would do. He would stop it until we can get a handle on how to vet people. S we forget that Comey said we can't properly vet these people? Once we can figure that out so that the people charged with vetting feel that it is working things can go back to normal.

Nor are the other countries (SA, Egypt, Lebanon, etc.), so your conspiracy theory may need some revision.

ISIS hasn't opened a Christian chapter yet so why would they be doing extreme vetting on their group?

IOW, the ban is based on religion.
