had the problem; turn it on; no more issues. just turn it on for now as temporary fix and wait for ios update

Don't know yet but i will give it a shot.
Well I turned on Hey Siri yesterday. This morning after charging my IPP overnight it was fine.

Now I've only had it 3 days now. After first charge it was locked up and had to be reset.

After 2nd charge it did not need a reset but did require "passcode after a restart" though I had not restarted it.

We will see how it goes from here.

I did a wipe my iPad Pro and did a fresh install of iOS 9.1 and I have had the no wake issue. I also set my iPad up as a new iPad and then reinstalled my apps manually. A pain, but seems to be worth it so far

On my current iPad Pro, on the first night, I had the freezing problem. However, there was a firmware update that only bumped the build number that came out a day or so before. So I restored with that latest firmware and have not had the problem since. After encountering this thread, I thought maybe it was because I enabled Hey Siri... so last night I disabled Hey Siri before putting my iPad Pro on the charger (it was at 5%) and just woke it up this morning without problems.

I do not think that Hey Siri has anything to do with the issue in my case and that the restore from the very latest firmware version is what actually fixed it. FWIW, I restored to the latest firmware then restored from backup. Some people seem to think restoring from a backup is a problem, but, I don't think it's relevant.

The version of firmware I have is 9.1 (13B144) whereas the iPad Pro shipped with 9.1 (13B143).

I too have had no issue since reflash. Glad to see someone with same results

I had this problem also, turned Hey Siri on and its been fine since. The OP might be on to something.

Mine went away before I even turned on Hey Siri. I had 3-4 hard reset mornings out of the first week, but now it is gone. I wonder if Apple secertly pushed out updates (like they had to have done to turn on Applepay for users).
