This was most definitely not an Apple product. It could have been though.

I have to agree with this one....

It's logo says "motorola" not apple.

Even though it had itunes compatible.

Yeah, I agree with the obnoxiously large, pink, and bold guy.;)

    It was a Motorola product.

But yeah, I owned the 1st gen iPhone.

I remember when Steve demoed that thing, and it didn't go back to playing music after the call ended like it should. It was hilarious, and Steve probably went back to Cupertino and started hiring even more iPhone developers / programers.

"Apple announced the device yesterday but it took until today for pictures and specs to appear on Motorola’s website."

Sounds like apple was secretive back then too.

I wanted it so bad, but since at the time I worked for Verizon I wasn't allowed to have it. They made me have a verizon device .
All that changed when I quit I went right to the iPhone. When the 3G came out I was all over it.

I think it would be cool just to have a mint condition 1st gen just to have it. They have a beautiful feel while holding it.

I owned an 8GB 1st gen iPhone, and no, the Motorola is not the first Apple phone. Even Apple denied it.

To be fair, many of the Apple desktop and laptop chips over the years were made by Motorola (68000 and PowerPC), so....in effect...most Apples were Motorolas! ;)

Many BMWs have a GM transmission. Buy your logic BMWs are GMs. If you've ever driven a GM car and a BMW you know they are world's apart.

I think it's more of a fair comparison if the engine were made by GM. ;)

I'm just pointing out that Motorola and Apple have had very close ties for 20-30 years. In fact, that Motorola iTunes phone was likely to appease Motorola for losing the PowerPC chip contract...since that was around the time of the switch to Intel processors.

All in all, that phone had nothing Apple. It basically just hooked up to iTunes. Nothing else that screamed or said, Apple designed/contributed to me.

I had the SLVR... until the buttons fell off. This wasn't an Apple phone though. I had the first 4gb iPhone too.

Well even if it wasn't an official "apple" phone it was an apple sponsored one.
