how many people here find it hard to decide between iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max?

Update: I ended up getting the 13 Pro Max... only to return it a week later.... and got the 13 Mini. :)

what you use it for it would be the best guideline to make that decision, Youtube , Netflix and lots of video and battery life? go for the MAX, but beware, it is a chunky boi.

if not just get the Pro, in my case if my iPad was mine and not my sons, I would have gotten the pro and leave the iPad fro movies and such

I was seriously considering going from 11 Pro to the 13 Pro Max, but the PM's size was preventing me from making up my mind. A few months ago, my wife's work phone was upgraded to a 12 (non Pro), whose screen dimensions are identical to the 13 and 13 Pro. After playing around with that phone for a few days, I was completely sold on the 13 Pro.

I found that even with the 12 Mini last year I used the device with two hands to text, etc. I have fairly long fingers as well. I guess I can't break the two handed habit. Went from 11PM to 12 Mini to 12PM and haven't looked back. Now have the 13PM and love it. For me there's no point in getting the 6.1" phone. They're all two handed devices for me anyway so I prefer to get the nicer screen and larger battery on the Max.

I've had the big one since the 6+, IIRC.

I'll be going back to the smaller one. I use my iPad a lot more than I ever have and it has become my go-to media consumption device. The easier one-handed use will be nice.

Now that they're identical, and there's not something you're giving up, it makes it easier.

I know the battery life is longer on the Max but my 12 Pro Max is already long enough for me and the new 13 Pro (non max) will be even longer than that.

I’ve always gone for the plus sized. 7+, XS Max, 12 Pro Max, 13 Pro Max. I have tiny hands so I had no expectations I could use it one handed. I don’t even try. I don’t use pop sockets etc and I don’t have any issues. I’m also a heavy user.

I just ordered a MagSafe pop socket yesterday, never tried it before. Looks really handy!

I fiddled with a 12 PM at an electronics shop and immediately realised once again that the PM is too big for my liking. Pre ordered a 13 Pro and I’m not regretting it!

Nobody would be able to give you the answer you’re looking for. What baffles me is that people come here trying to make a decision based on very subjective replies and comments. You have to try both for yourself.
I’m probably the best example that it can be either or.
Back in 2019 when the 11 Pro was released, I tried both and returned the Max. At that point I was fine with the smaller one. I used it perfectly fine for 2 years. This time around I thought I’d get the smaller one once again and I did. I used it for a week and realized that it’s actually already bigger than the 11 Pro and it doesn’t feel as small and light anymore due to the flat edges, bigger print, and more weight. On top of that, the resolution on the 6.1 screen is different from the the 5.8 screen. Everything appeared just harder to read for me. I decided to go one step up on the font and in Safari. It made it better for me, but now the text appeared just way too narrow on that 6.1 screen. My eyes started going crazy and it felt as if I was using an iPhone Mini.
Anyway, I realized that I might as well just go with the Max instead, which I did. I returned the smaller Pro 3 days ago and have been happily using the Max ever since.

I actually changed my order last minute from Pro to Pro Max.

I'm so happy that I did. It's almost the same size as my old 11 but I get sooo much screen space and it looks so good in OLED proMotion🔥

I always got the Plus/Max size phones since the 6 Plus. Last year with iPhone 12 I went with the smaller 12 Pro even though he cameras were different that the Pro Max. Found that I find the size was better for me and this year with the specs being the same I stuck with the smaller pro. Still happy with my choice.

"you dooufus! just buy the little iPhone 13 Mini AND the iPad Mini. Problem solved"

she's one of those rare women with both brains AND beauty. 😍 (unfortunately, WAY out of my league)

Never even consider the Max, simply too big for me to be practical. Always get the regular Pro model.

Ever since the 6 Plus, I've always had the larger version (6s Plus, 11 Pro Max, 12 Pro Max). I somewhat started vlogging this year, and one drawback I found for myself is that the 12 Pro Max is a little too big for me to hold securely with one hand and take videos/photos. However, I'm quite used to the larger size for daily usage, i.e. browsing, messaging, navigation, etc. So this year, I pre-ordered (pre-orders opened in my country on 01 Oct) both the 13 Pro and the 13 Pro Max, the former for vlogging/taking photos and the latter for daily use. Now though, I'm unsure whether I still want both or which phone I would want to buy in the end.

I bought both and now I have return one of them as the return window is closing fast. I love both of them...but have found myself using the max more. the battery life is just amazing. but during a pandemic the max is perfect for home use ..etc. but when I get to traveling again, I will really want the smaller size, etc. tough decision, but I am leaning towards keeping the max and dealing with travel thing later. Who knows when that will be anyway ...

I went from an iPhone 11PM to the 13PM. I was hesitant going with the 13PM due to the weight issues, but honestly after a couple of hours weight did not bother me at all.

so for the 13 Pro you couldn't see text as much? think i had similar issue.. I also seemed to make more typing mistakes... not sure why (guess smaller size)...

Yeah, it was a bit weird. The font size appeared a tad smaller than on the 11 Pro. It was almost imperceptible, but I think the difference in resolution was at play there. I decided to go one step up, which made it better, but everything became weirdly narrow on the 6.1” screen. Honestly, the size/weight difference between the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max is not that drastic. However, the experience is much better on the 6.7” screen. I already have long fingers, so I don’t find it hard to navigate it at all.
Typing is another thing for sure. It’s easier on the Max as well.
I get that some people have small hands and the regular 13 Pro might be already big for them to begin with. In such cases, of course, one would be ok with the smaller phone instead. It’s all very individual.
Back in the day I used the 6S Plus for 2 years and I was fine with it. I downsized with the X since there was no bigger option and then hesitated with the 11 Pro Max. I sincerely considered that one and even bought 2 of them, as far as I remember. However, those didn’t have very good uniform screens and everything looked dingy on them. My 11 Pro had a more consistent screen panel, so that determined my choice 2 years ago.

The difference between 12 Pro and 13 Pro Max aren't that big. I went from 12 Pro to 13 Pro Max and was really worried (beacuse of all these comments around this forum) that it will be enormous and to heavy. In all honesty I for real don't even think of the the size difference now. I have small hands and adapted within a couple of days with how to "handle it".
