Hey guys,

I'm about to sell my iPhone 1st Generation 8GB to some guy who saw my post on Craigslist. He offered me $130 for it. Do you guys think that is a reasonable price? The iPhone is in good conditions.

it depends are you selling it unlocked/jailbroken if you are then you can get more money for it i dont know if thats a great price i think you could get some more money for that iphone

It isn't unlocked nor jailbroken. I just did a complete erase on it. Oh and I'm only giving the iPhone, no accessories included.

somebodies greedy with the accessories you will get more money with accessories and alot more money if its jailbroken and unlocked on 3.0 if you want to get the most money you can do what i suggessted for maximum money but to each his own :)

In my area, someone with all accessories, case and unopened headset is selling it for $250 for 16GB.

Lol. The darn phone cost me 600 bucks.:D Well that was 2 years ago so I think $130 is alright. Thanks for your suggestions. I'm going to sell it at the price he offered.

No, it's not stupid when you can buy the phone and activate it with a GoPhone contract, then use the sim in a 3G phone. Month to month is worth the price.

range here in south cali is around $300 with original accessories, i have been able to sell one of my 16GB First Gen iPhones for $450 two weeks before 3gs release and the other for $350 a week after 3gs release

Selling mine on Craigslist for $250 and I have people ready to buy now.

It's a 2g 8gig iPhone unlocked for T-Mobile.

I sold my 16gb for > 330 on ebay. Given the timing (after 3Gs hit the streets) I'm very happy with that.

So do you guys think I should ask for more money for my iPhone? BTW I live in Yuma, AZ close to the Mexican border. Not to many people have iPhones here.

My iPhone:
No accessories just the USB cable
couple of scratches(on the back) and 1 small dent on a corner
8GB
No scratches on the screen
it is not jailbreaked or unlocked(I can unlock it but that guy didn't mention anything about it)

$180 damaged.

I have been watching the 2g 16gb prices on ebay like a hawk over the last few weeks as I just sold my unlocked 2g 16gb with a nice big dent in the back for 190. From what I saw a nicely cared for 2g 16gb unlocked is going anywhere from 200 to 350. I know thats a huge range but it seemed like for no reason whats so ever some were bid way up while others were not even bid on at all. I guess thats ebay for you. All in all I would say that if your in a hurry to get rid of it then just sell it to the guy but I wouldnt be surprised if you would get a decent amount more on ebay if you want to wait a few days.

i'd like to give my old 1st gen to my mom, but she's t-mobile so i'd have to get it unlocked.

but my more important question is: is there a way to replace the battery with a new one, and put on a new aluminum backing?

thanks!

Clean with normal use 1st gen - up unlocked with basic accessories $230 to $300 on e-bay

My wife and I sold our original 8GB iPhones via craigslist for a total of $400 bucks. They were in good condition and had all the original accessories, including the box.

We probably could have gotten more, but we pretty much paid for the upgrade to the 3GS.
