How much of a difference is there between the 8600m GT and the 9400m GPU?

I currently use the 8600m GT 512MB card in my MBP but I'm thinking about downsizing to a MB with the 9400m. I was wondering how much of a difference is there between the two?

I like to play games like HL2 on the PC side and I'm hoping the 9400m setup can run the game at decent frame rates.

It's been answered a few times already. Jobs himself showed a slide comparing performance between the older MBP and the new MB ... at about 50%.

Others have shown 3D benchmarks with the MB at about 3/4 the performance of the 8400M GT.

Well don't forget if you get the MacBook, the GPU has a lot smaller screen to draw to.
