How to animate a travel route??

Hi
I would like to incorporate into my I-Movie project a Road map of say..Australia and somehow get it to show where I went ( drove) ie; week 1 from say Brisbane....to....Sydney. and animate the route i actually followed.

Can anybody explain how that can be done????? :confused:
