Like the title says. Can I do this without the disc ? Also Can DBAN work ?
Look at it this way, what happens next? If you don't have the install disc, how are you going to get an OS back onto the machine after deleting the HD?
drop 30 bucks on a retail copy of SL. If you want the ilife applications, copy them to an external first.
DBAN will work. So would a simple livecd with Gparted.
are you just trying to erase, or do you also want to install OS X afterwards?
All Im tryna do is a single or 7 pass erase. Im not reinstalling the OS back on. If someone can explain how I can accomplish this for free with a software I can download that would be great.
download something like ubuntu or whatever linux distro you are comfortable with. I like Puppy because it is so small. Boot into that and launch GParted. GParted is pretty self explanatory to use.
Is there one software i can download and it does the job for me rather than installing another os then doing the job ?
You've already been answered.
Theres nothing like DBAN that will work for Mac ?
A liveCD does not install another OS. You boot into it on the disk. If you prefer DBAN just download the ISO and burn it to a disk. It does not matter what OS you are on.
Do you understand how to listen? Also don't make duplicate threads.
I think he knows neither. Live CD Ubuntu GOOGLE IT
