EU resident: in anticipation of 18.1 - and because I want iPhone mirroring - how do I get my iPhone to be non-EU??

Setting to a different region is easy, but the problems / worries are:

1) Payment method? I don't have a credit card with a billing address outside the EU. My fallback would be to ask friends/family in US or UK - but is there another way?

2) What happens if I need to download an app that is only in the app store of the EU country where I live? (Parking apps are a good example of apps that are super localised.) Can I change the region back to the EU one, download the app and then go back to the UK or US store?

3) Will apps that I've already downloaded from my EU-country-store update once I've changed to a UK/US store? Will they update if I switch manually back to the EU store say, once a month?

Anything else to worry about?

2) Yes you can download apps from other region having separate AppStore account.
3) You cannot update them without switching to the region's AppStore again.

Are you sure it is locked by account and not by GPS or something?

I believe it's by account for which the billing information provides geographic validation. My guess is that Apple has no incentive to make something super secure: they are just trying to satisfy DMA requirements. Also doubt that American tourists in Paris will discover they can no longer use AI.

As it is presumably a system function, the usual trick of swapping country to download a geo-locked app (and then swapping back) may not work. In which case you’ll have to swap accounts whenever you want to do screen mirroring. A royal PITA.

And I cant imagine how EU regulations might be a hurdle to screen mirroring. Anyone know, or is it just a petty reaction to the regulatory issues with AI?

I'm kind of giving up on screen mirroring because use VPNs on all devices. Got tired of bank messages like "you are not logging in from your usual location" reminding me that they are actually tracking location history.

Have read that when one switches between accounts Subscriptions are cancelled. For apps that's no big deal for me. But what about iCloud? Have a data subscription and if that's cancelled it's a problem.
