How to keep a backup of my contacts separate from iTunes. For when I get a new iPhone

    Are you on OS X? If yes and the address entries are in the OS X Address Book app, just do command-a to select all then go to File menu/Export.../Export vCard and save the file somewhere.

    Try Phonecopy.com. It´s free and simple. You can backup and restore contacts in Iphone, Android, S60 and many others.

    You can export from the options suggested above. If you sync with an appropriate account then you don't need to manually migrate your contacts. Just set up sync on the device and you're good to go.
