I had a Xiamo Redmi 4X which allows me to pause/resume a video that I am recording rather then having to record multiple videos and combine them on my PC. How to do that on my iPhone X? There seems to be no pause function it just stops the video

Be nice addition but I don’t think it’s possible mate

The native camera app doesn’t have that functionality.

You can use iMovie on the phone to stitch them together plus add some minor effects like transitions.

Or you can find a 3rd party camera app that can do that.

Or possibly a 3rd party app that offers an extension when the video is edited to quickly stitch, not sure though never looked for one and I don’t know what Apple enables for devs in extensions.

Personally I use iMovie. You can stitch a ton of clips together in less than a minute. But you'll also be able to have nice transitions like fades and such, rearrange the order of the clips, trim the fat out of the clips, add pictures, use filters (although you can't color correct), add in time lapse/slo mo clips, add music or other sounds like a voiceover (with some effort) all while not losing the original clips. It’s a surprisingly powerful app that I feel many people don’t utilize enough when they could really benefit from it.

If you are using that function for work or something that you dont really care about, I feel your pain it will be a chore for you. However if you are using it for something that you want to look nice I think the iMovie route will really improve your videos.
