How to tell which model Airport Extreme from box?

I am planning on purchasing an AEBS from someone on craigslist. He claims that it is the newest generation. Is there a way to tell from looking at the box which model it is since they all look the same?

Yes. Look at the model number. The latest is MDxxxx, the late 2009 model is MC, the early 2009 is MB, and the first generation is MA.

Forget what's on the box. Make sure it's a real AEBS by opening it and checking the part number on the actual device.
