Don't you mean video? Monitors are for video. Speakers are for audio.

Which specific MBP do you have?

What kind of inputs (audio or video, it's your decision, but please let us know) does the monitor have?

Then get a 3,5mm to 3.5mm audio cable? Or has that monitor any other inputs? Can you share those with us?
Because if it has miniDisplayPort you can use the miniDisplayPort for audio and video in.

It's up to you. A monitor with built-in speakers won't give you surround sound like the link you posted, but it's easier on the wiring.

As for the link you posted, you'd need to get an audio interface that works with surround sound like: http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-SB1090-Blaster-Surround/dp/B0017QQQAE
