Hey all,

When accessing tab view in Safari (on my 7, not using handoff), I see these iCloud frequently visited sites from my MacBook Pro:

However, these are a nuisance - they don’t update themselves and don’t remain deleted after I do so. Is there a way to disable this continuity feature in Settings?

They aren't frequently visited, they are the tabs currently open on your MacBook but I'm not sure how to turn them off. Maybe turn off safari in the iCloud settings?

Ah yes! That’s what they’re called, I wasn’t 100% sure. But yeah, I haven’t had those specific tabs opened in over a week haha.

I thought that might be a solution, but then Safari data wouldn’t back up to iCloud. Overall, the tab bit isn’t a huge deal, but it really does nothing for me presently.

swipe left (or right is it) on them. They'll disappear off the screen and off your mac (if they were open on there)

Hmmm are you talking a long swipe? I’ve done a swipe left and manually deleted each, but those same ones keep coming back regardless of what’s on my mac.

well you swipe and it says close. It closes them on what ever device they are open on. So they disappear.

Correct, they do say close. However, closing them keeps them closed for maybe a minute or two, and those same ones return in tab view. They aren't closing as they should, nor are they syncing accurately as they should.

Safari in iOS 11 uses a new synching mechanism. The GM version should only move to this mechanism when all iOS devices and Macs are on High Sierra or iOS 11 but the beta of iOS 11 moves straight to the new version. I don't know if installing the GM of iOS 11 will downgrade the sync mechanism however

In other words this will start to sync correctly if/when you upgrade your Mac to High Sierra or may be corrected when you upgrade to iOS 11. Stuff like this are the hidden risks in running a beta.

Ah gotcha. My phone is running the latest iOS 11 beta, but my Mac is still on Sierra. Maybe this will get ironed out when they're both on the latest systems.

What's the new syncing mechanism, and how's it different from the current one?

Perhaps it's just a little buggy? I've noticed that they don't close as immediately on the other devices when I delete from say phone or iPad and then go back to the other device... sometimes it doesn't even recognize I've done that and other times it's normal
