How to use eMac as monitor for iBook?

My iBook G3 has a black screen (hard drive ok). How can I hook up my eMac to us as the monitor for the iBook? I don't want to run the iBook in target mode, but use it as the primary computer.

No, not without a large amount of modding.

unless your eMac has a video input, or you have excellent soldering skills + a female ribbon cable/circuit. it's not going to happen.

you can find some good monitors on eBay for ~135 (look for HP 2207, 2216, etc) or you can run it in target mode for now

You may not want to use TDM, but its the only way if you want to use that eMac. Just go out and get a CRT for free off the classifieds and use that. You will need a video adapter for the iBook though.
