Oh this is hilarious. Does anyone remember him talking about G-d and prayers helping get through the past 2 years. Because I'm pretty sure it was a lot of angry tweeting, fast food, ranting, and telling lies. I don't remember any interviews or comments to the press that he's leaning on his faith throughout the probe.

Trump says he leaned on God to survive Mueller probe

People say, ‘How do you get through that whole stuff? How do you go through those witch hunts and everything else?’” Trump said at the White House during a National Day of Prayer service.

He looked over to Vice President Mike Pence and shrugged.

“We just do it, right?” the president continued. “And we think about God.”

Don't forget golfing at his own club and funneling taxpayer dollars into his pocket by doing so.

And when he talks about God, he means himself. So I guess that money he's ripping off the taxpayers he sees as our tithes and offerings to him. Hell, its technically Trump day today, I guess.

I would say he hasn't survived it yet. The remainder of his presidency will be rife with investigations and not just from Democrats, in fact there are currently "10 other unknown investigations" right now alone.

And none of them will lead to impeachment. Trump is here to stay until January 2021. Mueller was their one shot to get some Senate Republicans on board but it was a whiff. He may be convicted on other offenses after he leaves office but by then it won't really matter will it? He might even win again.

I suspect you're right, but if he wins again and the Democrats take the Senate, I suspect they'll hit him with impeachment proceedings.

And, even if we ignore how he danced around both obstruction of justice and conspiracy with a foreign power, I suspect his repeated and constant violations of the Emoluments Clause will sneak up and devour his administration.

Today, Reuters noted that "U.S. State Department allowed at least seven foreign governments to rent luxury condominiums in New York’s Trump World Tower in 2017 without approval from Congress."

And, this illustrates that the GOP is the party of Trump now, and every Senator who continue to accept Barr's leadership at Justice Department have fundamentally failed in their duties to the U.S. Constitution, and were only giving their oath lip-service.

    Impossible.

An impeachment conviction in the Senate requires 67 votes. The only way to get so many Republicans to remove a president requires a smoking gun. The Mueller report wasn't even close. Any other financial crimes that happened before Trump took office won't sway them either.

You need more than 51 senators.
I foresee that from now on presidencies will be plagued with investigations that will drag on forever.
In all fairness, it started with HRC and we know that had she won we would still see parliamentary proceedings about her.

Hard not to laugh at how you guys know exactly how many we'll have after the election and exactly how they'll vote. Hey, can you give me the powerball numbers while you're at it? Papa needs a new yacht.

Let's say the AG was Sessions or even Holder. Was there anything in the Mueller report that would lead 67 Senators to vote to convict? A Democrat House that requires only 51% can't even decide whether to begin impeachment proceedings.

I wouldn't say impossible, just exceedingly improbable.

Of course, the Democrats cannot take 67 seats—it's possible mathematically, but that would require them winning every open seat, and even if Senate Republicans suddenly showed that they were actually a race of rapacious lizard people, that's not going to happen.

However, they could take enough seats and unearth so much in various investigations that waffling Senators decide that eighty-sixing Trump is the only way to save the party.

Now, I take no comfort in this model because it would require bravery from the milksop denizens of the Russel building, but I suspect that if Trump wins in 2020, he's going to get hit by a meteor, so to speak.

(If there was any real justice, he'd be beaned by the supersonic remnant an errant communications satellite screw, but TANJ.)

    What?
    Current status: 53 to 45
    Up for grabs: 33 seats.

    Mostly in red states.

Do you honestly think that the needle can move that much? Come on, let's be realistic.

I will give you 1000-1 that there won't be 67 Democrats in the Senate after 2020. There are only six Republican seats open in the next election.

True. Even if all the R's changed to D's the threshold wouldn't be met.

And those same odds on exactly how they'll vote, in over a year from now? It's a rhetorical question, the answer as you put it is "impossible" to know.

No. For the needle to move that much would require an epic, historic routing of the GOP. But, if the GOP cannot impeach Trump, this just illustrates that the current GOP members are partisans who don't care about their oaths.

Why would they impeach him? (and I guess we're talking about removal since impeachment is the House's duty). For no committed crime? Do we really want to open this Pandora's box?

I'd check your source on that. Look at @yaxomoxay 's map

Yeah, I think I've got better odds winning Powerball than Democrats have in taking 67 seats in 2020.

The man they protect so adamantly has 23 women who have accused him of sexual misconduct. He slept with a porn star while his 3rd wife was at home with his 5th child. I think it's safe to say any "oaths" they may have ever had are totally out that window at this point.

How are the investigations/trial going for these alleged misconduts?

Pathetic, very pathetic, but that's between him and his wife.

The remaining Republican senators won't impeach based on this evidence. If there were more damning evidence it would be out by now.

At this point I’m more fascinated by the career and legal suicidals who are still raising their hand when asked to be on his administration. There’s a higher level of stupid above his rally supporters.
