Nopes got a screen protector and a matte back protector on as i had with my 6S+ and no issues

Got mine the day after launch and have been using it naked since. One tiny nick on the bottom right at the corner of the lightning port. It's only about the size of a pin head and you'd never notice it unless you were looking for it. It's possible the phone came that way and I didn't notice. The finish is still in perfect condition otherwise!

Silver Or Matte Black?

Bad place to ask lol .. Picking one up today, on the fence Silver or Matte Black.. Any thoughts?

Mines also holding up well, no physical sings of use are evident on the phone at all, really pleased with it :)

Mine is still pristine.

I think the issue on the 5/5s was those awful chamfered edges (excuse me if I'm not using the correct phrase)

My 7+ is doing awesome but it is in a case. My lightning port has two mall nicks in it though. They should sell a marker to fill in and hide nicks.

I picked up my matte black about a week ago and it's been naked ever since. It is still pristine, although I do baby it a little. I usually use a case but I just hate covering it up. It's too pretty. If anybody knows of a way to protect it (I am a little clumsy), without covering up how pretty it is please post it.

Just a quick one, I'm about to go pick up an iPhone 7 today but I'm a bit unsure what colour to get.

I'm wanting the black, but a lot of the display models seem quite scratched. I'm getting this is because of it being a matte finish as it looks similar to how to slate black iPhone 5's went.

How is your black iPhone holding up?

I personally would get the Matte Black if you were concerned with scratches. I also like the color of the Matte Black over the glossy Jet Black.

Fine after a month, no issues front or back.

I lately bought an Apple smart battery cover which makes the thing seem almost indestructible, nice and grippy for taking photos also.

There is a huge thread on this with images.

It will get scratched, even if you use a case it will get scuffed.

A jb iPhone 7 scratches as much in one day as an iPhone 4 would in 2 years, not even joking, I've had both

Well this has happened to my JB 7... had it 3-4 weeks and not a single scratch on it. No case and happy how it's holding up other than for the chip/flake that has appeared near the speaker grill. Not the first JB to have this issue by all accounts. Took it to Apple Genius Bar last night who refused to exchange. Not happy at all. Feels like Apple isn't the company it was in the iPhone 4 days when they would swap a phone in a heart beat that had clear accidental damage with a smashed back!

No scratches or any alminium chipping on my one and half month old matt black iPhone 7 (used in a case from day one) but..... My one year old iPhone 6S Plus alminium has started chipping off around the headphone jack

My Jet Black is immaculate, but it's also in a case. I just took it out of the case and nothing, so apparently my case doesn't scuff it. I've really enjoyed this case—it's cheap, has a pleasant texture that's not too grippy and not too slippery, and is quite protective with a small lip around the display and perfectly sized cutouts: https://www.amazon.com/Silk-iPhone-Grip-Case-Lightweight/dp/B01JTI1M1Y/

Are you asking about the "black" colored iPhone or the "jet black" colored iPhone?

Your OP says "black," but many responses have been for "jet black."

By the way, my launch day black 7 looks good as new.

Got it on launch day. Still looks the same like on Day 1. Must mention that I use Apple's leather case on it but remove it once in a while when I am in office to use it "naked". Love the stealthy look.

They're both great and both look really slick. I'd go with the black though as it's more unique to the 7 line...silver is beautiful and sharp, but for me personally the look is a bit tired as it's more or less identical to the silver 6s and 6 (like the entire phone looks more or less identical not just the colour)...at least with matte black it's a new colour which gives it some "newness" which I like.

Sure it's the colour pretty much everyone has but it's a very nice colour. You'll appreciate the stealth look.

It's seems that matte black is better scratch resistance than jet black. I have matte black and got dust on this..however, when I clean it with cloth it's clean.
