I bought a new B&W ink cartridge and installed it in my printer. Now it's telling me to align the cartridges. It prints out a page then tells me to place it on the top glass and then press OK. It says it's aligning the cartridges but nothing happens. I've left it this way for two hours.

How can I get this to work? I'm gonna end up wasting all the ink by printing up these align pages over and over again when nothing happens.

personally I kinda hate having to align the cartridges
I've found out that you don't have to align them every time
just watch out that they'll sometimes mess up printing

open the door and take out the ink then put it back in

Three sheets of paper and the ink printed on them are not a significant sacrifice to properly setup your printer.

I actually went through 27 sheets and the printer still refuses to align the cartridges. The cartridge is just over half full now. I was able to print what I needed to print but every time I try to print something, it wants to align the cartridges. I've even tries unplugging it and it starts up with the align cartridges message scrolling on the display.
