There are marches all across the USA today to demand Trump release his tax returns. At least one isn't going so well"

"About 500 pro-Trump demonstrators and counter-protesters faced off Saturday morning at a “Patriots Day” rally in Berkeley, where the two groups have violently clashed on city streets twice in the last three months."

Way to ruin a beautiful spring day.

Wow I have so many other things I'd like to do rather than a trump/antifa rally.

It's tax day, not Patriots day. The buffoons on either side can't get anything right.

Very divided country. Hopefully there will be less tension in the future.

What you don't understand is that if one side wins, the other side ceases to exist. If the Trumpers win, all the dissenting democrats disappear and Trump gets another two terms, and if the Nontrumpers win, Trump and his supporters disappear and Hillary takes the White House with Sanders serving on prime-numbered days. Everything hangs in the balance of this battle.

    It's science.

That's not how it works. At best Trump could get 1 more term, (here's hoping not). Hillary cannot become president no matter what happens. The next in line is Pence.

Frankly, I hope cooler heads prevail and the violence ceases. It looks bad on the international stage and to the vast majority of Americans. Peaceful protest and non-violent opposition is the way to victory.

People becoming active and engaging in dissent, should be seen as a time-honored method of displaying one's discontent with the government.

We can't complain about Americans not being active and involved in politics and then complain when they are, can we?

(Answer: depends on whether we agree with their politics, or not.)

Seemingly very true. The antiwar Left disappeared for 8 years while Obama was droning innocent people around the globe and overthrowing Libya and destabilising Syria. The rest of us were left out on our own while they basked in the glorious sunshine of his beneficent presence for 8 years.

And the only time conservatives give a **** is when democrats are in power, what's your point? That people are biased and play team sports, no ****.

Sort of like how Tea Partiers have seemingly disappeared since trump's victory.

    That's how it usually goes.

When your people are in power you tend to sit back and let them do their thing.

Yep. Somehow having "your team" in power is cause for no longer giving a **** about politics to the same extent you did when the "enemy" was in power, this time spent talking about all the change that's going to happen, but more often than not, little changes, and the president extends the status quo more than they do anything else. Rinse and repeat for the next election period.

It's no different than other nations with all their coups and what-not: "The past 20 presidents have been terrible and corrupt, but this guy, this guy's gonna get it right!"

Nothing. That's the point. You don't complain when your side is in power. When they're not, you do. It's a fool-proof system.
