I recently bought a sonnet echo pro thunderbolt adapter & the sonnet tempo pro estata card to make use of my thunderbolt port on my mac mini.

I finally found an enclosure that will actually work & mount a hard drive with it, it is this; http://www.transintl.com/store/category.cfm?Category=2843

It came with a cable I have never seen before, a hybrid esata/usb cable combined on one cable, one esata end plugs into the back of the enclosure, the other end plugs into the sonnet card, & and a usb port.

this seems well & good, am pleased to find that I may be able to make use of the sonnet stuff I bought.

The question is, will I get full esata speed/use with the hybrid cable? or will the usb side/plug part of it slow down the esata side to usb speeds? why or what are these hybrid cables for? is there any advantages with them over single type cables?
