After seeing the new Samsung phones, I am truly excited about smartphoens again. I love apple and my iPhone, but if I believe you've got to give credit where credit is due and these new Samsungs are INCREDIBLE LOOKING!

My. Mind. Is. Blown.

That being said, I love iMessage. I send read receipts. Is there anyway on a Samsung S10?

Some of Samsung’s recent phones are good to look at but absolutely horrible in terms of usability. Like the galaxy edge range, really good to look at but those edges drove me crazy.

Honestly i don't see anything "wow" about the S10.
iPhone notch is kind ok, but that hole in the screen on the S10 is out of place.

Not a Samsung hater, i'm typing this from my Note 8, but i bought recently an XS Max.
I wouldn't go back to Samsung, their stupid updates policy and treating customers that buys their flagships like ****.
I had every single Galaxy S and Note since release, but never again.

Forgot to add those stupid curved screens, useless and cannot use a good screen protector. (They scratch very easy btw)

Actually those edges aren’t very good at all now that I think about it.

I still think Apple needs to catch up though. They’ve got a lot on their plate.

iPhone 11 MUST be huge imo. Screen finger print reader, 6 cameras lol, something about the notch.

In fact, if they know how to remove the notch, I think this is the time to debut it.

An ALL screen iPhone. No chin like android. No notch. Just screen.

Use WhatsApp (or sms) for inter platform communication. Good. Luck.

Yuck! I don’t have WhatsApp on my iPhone. And I plan to keep it that way.

I use iMessage religiously. Everyone I know is on imessage.

If I want to talk to someone but not give them my real number I text them with one of those texting apps lol

Question:

What update policy and how do they treat their customers like ****
[doublepost=1550744218][/doublepost]
Oh you’ll be back… they always come back ;)

My only concern is the software. iOS is the bees knees lol. Buttery smooth, snappy, and touch wood but it always works great. Can’t think of but one or two times I saw a bug or two running iOS 12

I can speak to the update policy. In Apple land, Apple announces a new iOS at WWDC and releases it in September. In September everyone has it. Samsung owners do not have that luxury. Android Q will be announced at I/O and Pixel devices will get the update in about October. Samsung then has to take Android Q, optimize it for each device it sells and then get approval from the carrier to release it.

After that, don't count on your Samsung phone getting further updates after Android R. According to Android Central, the Galaxy S7 didn't get Android Pie. Also, as your phone gets older you have to wait longer and longer for the update because Samsung devalues you as you hold onto your phone.

It's not a good user experience at least from a software point of view.

Wait a minute. You don’t get updates like iOS? Meaning, you do, but you don’t.

That’s messed up.

That's what i said earlier, Sammy's update policy is trash.
You will pay top cash for their flagships and don't even receive the monthly security updates on time (sometimes every couple months) or you see all the cheap (entry-mid level phones) getting updates quicker than your flagship, you will understand how it feels.

Like someone said about the major Android updates, get ready to wait atleast 6 months after Google releasing it.
You won't see more than 2 major updates on a new device, as they drop support after 2 years.

Wow! Just wow!

And people say Apple has planned obsolescence?

What if Apple only supported iPhones for 2 years?

And were sketchy with updates?

Uproar!

You need to be asking this in a Samsung Forum.

No way I would change on a phones "looks", but then that is me.

We will miss you!;)

Although..One UI appears to be getting rave reviews...

It is run by Google which I do not trust! They will suck every bit of private data from your phone and sell it to the highest bidder!

It would not be so bad, I think you should do it!

Don’t want ads on the sidebar lol

Why would you trust Google for mail? By signing up you gave them complete permission to read your emails and use the data any way they want, including selling it to interested parties.

There is a world of difference in how Google and Apple respect your privacy.

Yes, I personally made that mistake with the S4 many years ago, never again! I came back to iPhone and have stayed ever since :)

The grass may seem greener on the other side but it rarely is.

Love the look of Samsungs, but always have come back to Apple. Tried the S7, S8, S9 and always had the problem with updates, both security and major. Samsung always blamed it on Verizon, Verizon always blamed it on Samsung. Bottom line is you can't depend on having current software and bug fixes in a timely manner.

Good for you moving to a new platform! S10 line looks like a great phone and I’m sure you’ll adapt to the differencees in no time. Give us a review after you’ve lived with it awhile.
