I am getting MacOS BigSur 11.6.1 instead of 12 - whats that

These rollouts are sometimes done in stages. I'm not seeing the Monterey update in Software Update or in the Mac App Store yet either.

Just give it time.

Same issue. Their update mechanism has to work flawlessly every fall and every fall their mechanism seems to be in a poor state.

Same in here... I don't know to update to 11.6.1 at this moment. Honestly speaking, with Macbook Pro 16 inch BigSur has been disastrous. I'm not planning to change but I cannot believe that Apple has made the Macbook Pro 16 inch, intel version very useless at this moment. It has sudden quits, software bugs and overheating issues. Hopefully, Monterey will be better...

Got Monterey now and an Update for Connecting iPad and iPhone

I updated to 11.6.1 and the moment it finished it said there was an update macOS 12.0. Downloading it now.

Fine for me on my 2012 unibody running OCLP - 12.0.1. Dare not patch it though

Downloaded the 12 Gb Monterey update and then it started downloading the 11.6.1 update. So it's an update kind of day.
