Recently, my MBP has started to freeze/crash. After a while I figured out that when I gently squeeze it with my left hand (to the left of the touch-pad, just below the cmd/alt key) then it will instantly freeze. The only way to get it to work again is by pressing the power key for a while and restarting -- the notebook otherwise works perfectly fine (just as long as I don't squeeze it involuntarily).

I was wondering, whether there might be a simple fix for this?

I have opened the backside of the macbook and have seen that my squeezing probably makes the aluminium casing (which is isolated by some plastic) touch the chip underneath.

    Thanks for your help!

If it's under warranty take it to Apple for repair, else take a look through the iFixiT.com guide for your MacBook for repair ideas.
